Chanterelle

"Chanterelle" refers to the 5-string banjo's "5th-string," also known as the "short-string" or "drone." I was also thinking about the late Mike Ramsey, who was a North Carolina banjo maker, who at one time called his banjos "Chanterelle Banjos." I own one of his banjos, and I absolutely love it. I own six banjos, and his is my favorite.
